The Viet Nam - Korea Food and Culture Festival 2014 is set to take place at Calidas Landmark 72 Keangnam Hotel, Ha Noi from November 29th - 30th.
Aiming to introduce local people to the culinary specialties and typical agricultural products of Korea, various Korean enterprises will take part in the event, including Namyang diary, Paldo noodle, K-Mart, Star Korea, and others.
Visitors will also have the chance to enjoy special Korean foods, such as kim chi, and will learn how to cook Korea dishes.
“After 5 consecutive successful operations, this year’s festival will see many Korean restaurants in Ha Noi to join and introduce their specialties with reasonable pricing, so that visitors can come and try good and diversify dishes. The Viet Nam-Korea Family Association will also prepare various dishes for this annual event”, said Mr Park Noh Wah, the Korean Embassy’s Minister Counselor, during a press conference held in Ha Noi on November 20th.
Apart from exploring the beauty of traditional Vietnamese Ao Dai and Korean Hanbok, St. 319 (a K-pop dance cover group from Ha Noi) and singer Van Mai Huong are set to perform during the festival.
Last year’s event saw the participations of over 60,000 visitors, colleting USD7,000 from tickets and contribution from businesses. The fund spent on supporting victims of natural disasters (USD5,000) and providing scholarships for disadvantaged pupils (USD2,000).
Co-organized by the Embassy of Korea in Viet Nam, the Viet Nam’s Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Korea Project on International Agriculture (KOPIA), the Korea Agricultural Products Distribution Corporation (AT), the Korea International Exchange Fund and the Korea Tourism Organization, the two-day festival 2014 is expected to attract some of 80,000 visitors.
Kids are also beneficiaries from a very interesting child’s corner. Entrances are free. All proceeds from voucher sales (VND20,000/voucher) and other donations will go to the victims of flooding in the Central region.
