The house No48, Hang Ngang street, Ha Noi-where Ho Chi Minh wrote the Declaration of Independence, owned by Mr and Mrs Trinh Van Bo, situated in the Old Quarter of Ha noi, a busy commercial center of Hoan Kiem district. It has two ways to get in and out: No 48 Hang Ngang street and No 35 Hang Can street.
Thanks to many advantages, the house was chosen by the Party’s Central Committee a temporary residence and working place for President Ho Chi Minh as the first post-August 1945 Revolution days after his return from Viet Bac to Ha Noi.
President Ho Chi Minh stayed and worked at this house from August 25 to early September 1945. He and the Standing Committee of the Party’s Central Committee laid down many important policies on internal and external affairs, took decisions on the regime and nominated staff of the new Government and the organization of the Independence Ceremony.
Especially, President Ho Chi Minh wrote in this house the historical Declaration of Independence to give birth to the Democratic Republic of Viet Nam.
The house was recorgnized by the Ministry of Culture and Information on April 29, 1979 for its cultural and historical value.
